Ilhan Omar has been accused of having a torrid affair with her married campaign strategist in newly-filed divorce papers – confirming DailyMailTV’s bombshell exclusive.
We revealed last month how the Minnesota congresswoman, 37, had been enjoying a secret romance with veteran Democratic fundraiser Timothy Mynett.
Both Somali-born US Rep Omar and Mynett, 38, refused to discuss the fling after multiple sources confirmed it to DailyMailTV.
But our exclusive was confirmed in divorce papers filed today by Mynett’s high-flying doctor wife Beth, 55, who accuses her estranged husband of dumping her for Omar.
Beth, who has a 13-year-old-son with Mynett, describes in the papers how her cheating partner made a ‘shocking declaration of love’ for the leftist firebrand.
He is also said to have taken their son to formally meet Omar at the Mynett family’s favorite restaurant in Washington, D.C., when the reproductive health expert was out of town.
Mynett’s confession brought the couple’s seven-year marriage to an abrupt end and the former spouses will meet at the city’s Superior Court in October to thrash out divorce terms.
Beth’s attorneys are expected to tell the court how her cheating spouse put their son in ‘harm’s way’ – by exposing him to the media backlash and death threats Omar has received because of her comments about Israel and her high-profile feud with President Donald Trump.
ailyMail.com began investigating the rumored affair after married ‘Squad’ member Omar was seen holding hands with a mystery man at a secluded Italian restaurant outside of Los Angeles back in March.
A source who took video of the ‘date’ told DailyMailTV: ‘He seemed very protective of her, it was not a random person. It just felt to me like they were close.’
Insiders soon identified the mystery Romeo as Mynett, whose company E Street Group has been on Omar’s payroll since July 2018, providing fundraising and strategy.
He previous worked as national finance director for former Minnesota congressman Keith Ellison, whose seat Omar took over when he ran for Attorney General.
Federal Election Commission records show Omar’s team began paying Mynett’s DC-based firm in August of 2018, splashing out $62,500 by the end of 2018.
Payments continued into 2019, with $5,000, $10,000 and $12,000 chunks being shelled out every month, totaling just over $253,000 in a single year.
Mynett has traveled with Omar all over the country in recent months with pictures appearing of them side-by-side in New York City, Austin and Seattle as well as Los Angeles.
He has even spent time with Omar’s daughter Isra, 16, who is a budding activist, as the threesome were photographed together on two separate occasions.
