Rush Limbaugh long time conservative radio personality announced on his show today that he has been diagnosed with an advanced stage of lung cancer.
“This day has been one of the most difficult days in recent memory for me,” Rush Limbaugh told his listeners, before disclosing that he has advanced lung cancer. “I can’t help but feel that I’m letting everybody down with this,” Limbaugh said. He stated that the diagnosis was confirmed approximately two weeks ago.
Limbaugh says that he is not experiencing any symptoms, other than shortness of breath, which led to his diagnosis. “It was a pulmonary problem involving malignancy,” he told listeners.
The talk show host is set to begin treatment and expects that he will miss some on air time during the process.
Limbaugh, who has had a nationally syndicated radio talk show since 1988, says the cancer was discovered last month.”This has happened, and my intention is to come here every day I can,” he told listeners.
